In My Own Words: Passion is the story of Percy Grainger - pianist, composer, inventor, Oedipal icon, sado-masochist. The film itself covers only a brief period in Grainger's young(ish) life, and his passionate, if fleeting, romance with Karen Hooten. If ever a story had a title befitting its content, this is it. Grainger's passion bleeds into his life, his work, his love...indeed, it appears to be the core of his genius.

The Roxburgh Rating: Another movie, another opportunity to see Richard Roxburgh's bare backside. Even if that was not enough, Roxburgh's portrayal of Grainger would still draw me in.
Sixty points for portraying a brilliant pianist; thirty points for indulging the sado-masochist in all of us. Total: 90

The only place I have found that carries the Passion Region 1 DVD is Videoflicks.com. I purchased the DVD on May 16th, 2004. It shipped June 1st, and I received it on June 4th. In the meantime, my e-mail requests for an order confirmation went ignored, and no e-mail communication was provided giving me any indication that the order was placed/received/pending, until the day the DVD shipped. Still, if you are interested in purchasing the Region 1 DVD, (which I highly recommend if you are a North American Richard Roxburgh fan), then Videoflicks is it. Though I was disappointed in their customer service, my DVD arrived in a reasonably short period of time from the ship date, and there were no problems with the order, itself.
